Columbus based producer- Melvin Gaines III (a.k.a Gainz) has a primary focus on trap/rap music, with an enthusiasm for EDM and mixed-type genres. As a graduate from Full Sail University he has experience in mixing, mastering & recording with music, games and movies. His latest project in 2019 “Pregame” showcases his expertise in finding talent, making music, mixing and producing.

 

Gaines was born near an army base in Watertown, New York in 1990 although his families are Kansas City Natives.  After a series of moves he found himself in Colorado, where at the church he became a drummer, and sparked his talent and interest in sound. After leaving home Gainz joined the military, and deployed which had its effects. After a battle with deployments and PTSD, Gainz realized that the one thing that kept him grounded after family- was music. A few short years later he pursued his degree in Audio Production and dedicated his life to the sounds that kept him.

 

A year later, and Bachelor’s degree higher Gainz has worked with many local talents in pursuit of creating a new sound with raw talent in aspirations that everyone will grow. In 2018 Gainz started his own label “No Loses” where he seeks the underdogs to bring them out of pound.
